Preamble
The Shape of This Argument
A lemniscate, not a chain.
You cannot fail a lemniscate argument by attacking a link, because there are no links — only a continuous surface with a single pivot.
Why a figure-eight
Most theoretical arguments are chains: premise, lemma, theorem, conclusion. Remove one link and the argument fails. This thesis is structured as a lemniscate — the figure-eight, ∞ — a curve with no beginning and no end, and one crossing point. Every traversal passes through that crossing and returns to its own origin. The structure is not decorative. It is the formal content of the claim: physics and consciousness are not two chains that need connecting. They are two readings of one surface, taken from opposite orientations.
The Möbius twist
A Möbius strip has one side and one edge. A Möbius lemniscate — a figure-eight with a half-twist at the crossing — inherits both: closed, no inside or outside, and passing through the crossing reverses orientation. What was up becomes down. What was physics-side becomes consciousness-side. Same surface. Same law. In this thesis the crossing point is α. Every time the argument passes through α, the reading inverts.
Novus Horner
Horner's method nests a polynomial so partial evaluation at any depth is still a polynomial. Novus Horner replaces the running variable x with α(μ), which itself changes with renormalization-group scale μ. Each coefficient is a MERA layer — a stratum between the UV (infinite resolution, M) and the IR (discrete experienced reality, C). UV→IR is the physics reading (M → α → C). IR→UV is the manifestation reading (C → α⁻¹ → M). Neither direction is primary. The document evaluates correctly from either end.
p(x) = ((aₙ · x + aₙ₋₁) · x + … ) · x + a₀
Novus Horner: x = α(μ)
p(α(μ)) = ((aₙ · α(μ) + aₙ₋₁) · α(μ) + … ) · α(μ) + a₀
Each section of this thesis is one coefficient — self-contained, nested, correct from either direction.
