Holographic Fidelity and the Spectrum of Experience
Consciousness is not a binary. It is H(μ_bio).
A continuous spectrum
The quality of experience is not on/off. It is H(μ_bio): the degree to which holographic encoding is successfully instantiated at the nervous system's operational scale. H ranges from zero (no completeness — fragmentary translation) to maximum (full completeness — rich, coherent, high-resolution experience). Degrees of consciousness are degrees of holographic fidelity. The spectrum is continuous because H is a continuous parameter.
The hard problem dissolves
Why is there something it is like to be in a given state? Because that state is a projection of M-information through an α-Connection operating at some value of H(μ_bio). The 'what it is like' is exactly the content of that projection. No separate theory of consciousness is required. The framework is empirically tractable: any measure of H at biological scale is a measure of the richness of experience.
