Low-instrumentation engineering of the edge

If α governs conversion between continuous and discrete reality everywhere — horizons, MERA, quantum measurement — it governs that conversion inside a nervous system. Practices called manifestation, coherence, intentional living, consciousness work are, under this framework, engineering of the edge process at biological scale by agents who often lack the vocabulary. They are not in conflict with physics. They are Edge Theory, applied.

Why results are inconsistent

Not because the mechanism 'doesn't work.' Practitioners operate at different baseline H(μ_bio), different χ, different distances from the α* attractor. A practice that nudges an already-critical system closer to α* produces large, coherent changes in C-outcome. The same practice far from criticality produces small, noisy ones. Mechanism identical. Distance from the attractor sets magnitude.

Quantum measurement at higher bond dimension

A quantum measurement is an edge-mode excitation: continuous field collapses into a discrete event. At higher χ the edge resolves finer distinctions in the M-state — more specific C-outcomes. Manifestation at high coherence is measurement at high bond dimension. The collapse is into a richer, more precisely intended C-outcome. Intention is the UV boundary condition. This is measurement theory, running in biological hardware.
